Prescriptive Easement over Vezey Property - 2019

The purpose of this report was to assess the status of private or public access through the Shaw Creek properties owned by Allen Vezey at Shaw Creek.  The site is at the intersection of Shaw Creek road and the Old and current Richardson Highway rights-of way, to the north of the Tanana River and south of the Haines pipeline.  The focus was on access rights by prescriptive easement or RS-2477 and their allowable scope of use.

The case follows two previous lawsuits involving Vezey and adjoining landowner Green that both went to the Alaska Supreme Court in 2001 and 2007.  Ultimately, this case was settled out of court.  Vezey provided permission to release this report.
