"Key to the Highway" was the theme of my last DOT&PF email upon retirement in May of 2014. I decided to re-purpose the title because it just seemed to fit the objective that all of us ROW mappers strive for: Finding the "key" or solution to one of many of our mind numbing ROW title issues.
This short course was presented at the 2016 Alaska Surveying & Mapping Conference on February 18, 2016. It was a collaborative effort that included presentations by Karen F. Tilton, PLS, SR/WA, CFeds of R&M Consultants, Inc.; Eric P. Fuglestad, PLS; Rachel N. Shoemake, PLS and Ryan L. Quigley, PLS; all of DOT&PF Central Region ROW. The short course was moderated by James H. Sharp, PLS, CFeds of Hattenburg Dilley & Linnell, LLC. I have provided my presentations and background documents below but I will leave it to the others to make theirs available upon request.
I presented three project case studies including Jensen Road in the Mat-Su Valley, Mining & Highway Access cases on the Taylor Highway and in Nome and a preliminary review of the ROW issues related to the relocation of the Seward Highway between Girdwood and Anchorage.
