Old Alaska Highway at the Tanana River - 2009

This was less a project and more just assisting the DNR PAAD (Public Access, Assertion & Defense) Unit in researching a portion of the old (1942) Alaska Highway commencing at the Tanana River Bridge (No. 505), then running northerly to Porcupine Creek then southwesterly to Tok. The request was initiated by the Division of Forestry after Tetlin Native Corporation had been requiring fees and permits to use the pioneer road. As it turned out, Tetlin was reserved in 1930 by Executive Order and was well within their rights to assert management authority over portions of the old road.
